Our origin Story
Ease Ally was born out of the recognition that taking tasks or responsibilities off of our plates does not mean we should in turn, pile more on in an effort to be more “productive.” In fact, this pro-capitalist ‘hustle’ mentality has always done more harm than good. It’s taken years to even begin to unlearn this practice ourselves and trust us, it’s an ongoing one.
Let’s be real for a second, historically, many of our communities, especially Black and Brown, had to carry it all. It was a requirement to survive within oppressive systems. There was no choice. Rest was not an option.
Although this generational trauma is so very real today, and these violent systems continue to impact our experiences, we started to ask the question of, ‘what would it look like to lean into ease as a direct challenge to these oppressive systems?’
Inspired by the phenomenal activist, writer and co-founder of The Nap Ministry’s, Tricia Hersey, and her ‘Rest is Resistance’ framework, we wanted to challenge the extractive nature of the grind and invite folks into reclaiming liberation through ease and rest.
As individuals laboring within systems not designed for us, we knew that there had to be a different way of offering support while also shifting belief systems around how folks accomplish what they do for a living, sustainably.
Because this isn’t just about the ‘success’ of your business or organization, which so many virtual assistants ramble on about.
This is about ensuring you are creating the spaciousness to usher in wellness, to protect sacred time with family and community and most importantly to acknowledge you weren’t created to simply grind.
At Ease Ally we are committed to helping you actualize these shifts by carrying the tasks and responsibilities that you’re willing to pass on to us and inviting you to deeply reflect on what it can mean for you to know more ease as a result.
Ideally, we want to live and thrive in a society where ‘work’ is not a necessity. Where we get to simply exist. And we want that for you too, but until then, we’re here to lend a hand.
